IT ALL BEGAN IN 1990
Rare Basic is a British visual merchandising and display company founded in 1990 by Gay and Bruce Briggs.
Over more than three decades, the company has grown from a boutique UK venture into an established name in the international retail display sector. Its corporate evolution includes several milestones:
Founded with a primary focus on retail design and display, Rare Basic positioned itself as a creative agency specialising in sourcing, developing, and deploying high-end mannequins and visual merchandising concepts
THE 90'S

THE NOUGHTIES!
Our company shifted from standard display models to technical mannequin innovations, introducing advanced research and development into finishes like concrete, paper, fabric, smoked, and frosted materials designed to resist chipping and breaking
Despite economic challenges facing the retail sector including multiple recessions, Brexit, and the rapid shift away from traditional bricks-and-mortar high street stores,
Rare basic still continues to operate out of the UK, offering a unique 360 approach to visual merchandising communications.
